Spend the day with Drone U Elite instructors (Meet your instructors) as you navigate our sequential flight exercises designed to test and train you on unique nuances of flight operations. Meet Your Instructors
Dave and Jon Schwalm, Owners of Northeast Dronez since 2012, are a Father/Son Team from Central New York with over a decade of drone experience. 

Dave's Construction Executive background grew the need for a better way to photograph large construction projects, which naturally pushed them into Drones.

Jon built one of the first custom drones available at the time, based on a FlameWheel F550 frame. They have hundreds of hours of experience, including 3D- Modeling, Cell tower, Solar farm, & Wind Turbine inspections, as well as major asset inspections. They have flown everything from a Mavic Mini to an M600.

Dave and Jon participated in one of the first blanket Flight over people FAA waivers for drone deliveries, which involved using a ballistics parachute system. 

This Father/Son team love pilot training and mentoring new and experienced pilots to help gain the knowledge and confidence to fly missions successfully and safely.

Drone U Elite Instructor

Glenn has a long career in tech. Having spent 45 years in the music industry as an Emmy Nominated Audio Engineer, Producer, Tour Manager, Lighting Designer, Director of Photography, Video Editor, Camera Operator and Recording Studio Engineer the world of unmanned systems was an easy transition for him. 
Glenn has trained with PrecisionHawk and Talon for cell tower inspections. Received certification for sUAS Thermography Level 1 and Certified Thermography Level 2 Osha 10 and First Aid Certified. He is currently training for OSHA 40.
 
He has many hours on flight apps such as DJI GS Pro, GO 4, GO, and Pilot. He also has extensive time on Litchi, Measure Ground Control, Map Pilot Pro, Litchi, DroneDeploy, and UgCS.

Glenn is twice Drone U trained in mapping and processing with Pix 4D. He also uses Reality Capture, and Civil 3D in processing 3D models and map data for clients.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost of the course?
The entire day with all exercises is $897.  Drone U Members receive a 10% discount.
Do I need to bring my own drone?
Yes, it's best if you bring your own drone.  With enough notice, we MAY be able to provide a drone for you to fly. 
What else should I bring to the training?
There are a few things we recommend:
   - the ancillary accessories you'll need (such as: plenty of batteries, tablet, screen hood, sd cards, etc.)
   - a chair if you'd like to sit
   - sunscreen
   - clothing appropriate for the weather
What’s your cancellation/refund policy?
Except for emergency situations, refunds will not be issued for this training.

Any amount not refunded per the policy above will be credited and available to be used on other Drone U events and/or products (limitations may apply).
